Hi Lazyrus,

Got spark? Pull the plug, connect the plug wire and touch the tip of the plug to the engine. Kick it over (or turn the key). Got spark?

Aldo

Lazyrus

Welcome to iboats

Are you getting spark to the plug?

That would be the first thing I would check for.

Next is fuel getting to the carb

Is this a two or four cycle motor

Pull the plug again and see if its wet from fuel.

If it is, your fuel may be contaminated or too much 2stroke oil. If it isn't, you may have a carby problem or a blockage (fuel filter?).

Aldo

Can't help with that one. I don't know what an x-ped is. If you mean the fuel filter, follow the fuel line and you'll find it. Sometimes they are built into the tap on the tank.

Aldo

Re: X-ped gas scooter wont start

What I should have said is that I'm not familiar with ANY model or make of scooter therfore I don't know the location of the filters, but they should be accessible and easy to find (famous last words :D )

Aldo

Any motor needs

1 Spark
2 Fuel
3 Compression

Check all three and get back to us. Does it sound like it is trying to start at all (coughing and sputtering?) Or nothing at all?

Re: X-ped gas scooter wont start

are you mixing oil in the fuel? If its a 2 stroke there wont be an oil filter. I got a 50 cc scooter for my son and it is hard to start. It floods the plugs sometimes and others it doesnt seem like its getting enough gas. try and start it a few times and pull the spark plug. is it wet? if it is its flooding, in this case leave the plug out and crank it a few times to dry the cylinder a little then wipe the plug dry with a rag and try to fire it again. this usually works with mine. Also check your spark plug gap. if its too big or small it wont run.
