xr4 150 no spark

i have a 89 xr4 150 new coils and plugs but no spark out of number 4 and 6 coil put test light on coil have power but no spark

Sounds like a trigger to me however could be the stator or the switchbox...You need a digital VOM meter and peak voltage adapter to do testing on all three....parts get real expensive if you just start changing them out...Triggers fail less often then stator's and swith boxes but again no guessing here...

Not likely trigger. They usually kill opposite cylinders, like 4 and 1. I agree that proper diagnostics are the fastest and cheapest path to a repair.

On the coils. Did you replace all the coils on the engine with a used set? A little more history about how you got here would help a lot.
