I completely gave up wine 7-8 weeks ago, due to me thinking it would ease gall stone upsets, was just testing, also a small diet change(is usually low fat, but now low fatter), so I get a bottle of my favorite last night, tasted like blah...tried it 2-3 times, same deal.
By the grace of God my taste in Sierra Nevada Pal Ale and champagne(weekends only) hasnt changed!
Just curious if anyone else has done this, hmmmm maybe it can work with ciggies???

Ya pretty much. I can't stand the taste of beer anymore. Dunno if it is the hops or what, but I just can't handle it. But then, the last time I had 1 or 20 whatever it was, it took me a full day just to remember where in the world was I. Eventually realized that it was Japan.

But then there was other forms of alcohol involved as well.

Yes, the taste of ciggies does go away after a while. I have been good for 3 yrs now without ciggies, and don't miss the taste at all. As for beverages, I haven't had that kind of detrimental loss yet.

Never really lost my taste for em..I just switch to different brews now and then. Never drink enough of one to get sick of it.

Tequila on the other hand...many times I've lost my taste for it... :rolleyes:

I lost my taste for alcohol the same way. After years of drinking I suddenly lost a desire for it and give GOD the credit...Its been over 11 years and I still dont want it.. I have learned that nothing ever good comes from drinking too much and the price a person pays who continues to drink in excess continues to go up and up and up untill he cant pay it any more..He either dies or stops.Dont misunderstand me . An occasional drink or a few beers to watch a sports game etc or a nice relaxing wine is ok, but abuse NOT SO

I like to keep changing my "favorite" adult beverage at the house. although at a bar it's always the same.

BTW it does work for ciggies as well but it takes a little longer, oh and that wine will taste much better although different without them. 7 years off the sticks and I can't say I regret it at all.

For me it depends on my mood. If I'm upset, po'd or just feeling down no adult beverage taste good, and I stay away from them. On the other had if life is cruising along and all's good I have never lost my taste for a cold Miller Lite.

I'll second that. I used to be a "several-beer-a-day" guy but now may be months before I embibe. That is, unless of course some cronies come over and we make a campfire or are sitting in the garage (ManCave here) watching TV and talking about stuff. Then we hit the Miller Lite.

I'm considering taking a very old refreigerator my folks want to get rid of. It's one of those lead ones from 19XX that is rather small, weighs a million pounds and has the old Cadillac symbol on it. Stillwork fine but might take up too much room...

I don't think I would ever loose the taste of any of the adult beverages I enjoy, but thats probably because I change it up, and only have a drink maybe once a week. I like Wine, mixed drinks, strait crown royal, and I never met a beer I didn't like (except for Sam Addams Cranberry Lambic).

It's nice to have a couple of drinks and unwind, but too much is never good. I can also understand why people stay entirely away from the sauce too.

Below is a funny email I had received. Supposedly these are quotes by famous people on drinking/beer. Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Babe Ruth
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."
Lyndon B. Johnson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."

Paul Horning
~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not."
H. L. Mencken
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!"

George Bernard Shaw
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
Benjamin Franklin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."

Dave Barry

BEER: HELPING UGLY PEOPLE HAVE SEX SINCE 3000 B.C.!

Professor Irwin Corey

To some it's a six-pack, to me it's a Support Group Salvation in a can!

Leo Durocher
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One night at Cheers, Cliff Clavin explained the" Buffalo Theory" to his buddy Norm:
"Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this.. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members! ; In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
I must say that I still enjoy a cold Beer but during the past few years I have come to realize the Pension Check won't allow alot of things I wants enjoyed. On my Birthday(week) I will still celebrate with a bottle of 1738, Remy Martin. Coffee, down to 2 Mugs a day, and then wash it down with a Beer!
Times have changed!......Muhahahahahahaaaa! :D
I switch beers all the time. I just made the move to Busch Light after drinking nothing but Keystone for the past year... I can't even stand the smell of a Keystone after drinking it for so long. Next up will probably be PBR. :D I like the cheap stuff! :)
After your done with the PBR kick, you should consider the fact that nothing makes a statement like clutching a 40 of Green Death (Heffenreffer) or Colt45! :cool:
For cheapie beer I actually like Schlitz. After all, it's the beer that made Milwaukee fart :eek::redface:.... ummmm..... I mean famous.
