Remove lower cover on cowling. Remove eight long bolts on either side of engine plus two short in the front. Don't forget the two nuts on the studs in the front and two nuts in the rear. Be sure to bring a dictionary for the children as they will be asking the meaning of the words you will be uddering. When the first bolt breaks off, drink the first shot of whiskey from the bottle hidden from the wife in the back of the toolbox. When the second breaks, take two hits off the bottle. Third bolt, three hits, you get the picture. Soon you won't care if you fix the motor or not and will be sitting on the floor playing games with the children. Or is it you will be passed out on the floor and the children will be playing "roll the whale back in the ocean". <br /><br />On another note, being its a 175 means its an older engine and the chances of you getting the powerhead off is slim to none without the use of a torch and crane. Even for an expert its difficult especially if its seen service in saltwater. Course if it hadn't seen salt water the shift shaft wouldn't have rusted out.
