Yahoo groups or other???

Can a Yahoo group or perhaps some other place be set up for certain people for a certain subject. Can they be moderated? How about having to have a password to get in it?

We are looking for a place just for old shipmates to be able to go to and shoot the breeze without having people there that no one knows. Or as close to it as we can get.

Yahoo groups can be restricted.
Been awhile since I visited there, I want to say they have "private" groups.
I don't know if they are moderated or not.

that would be awesome, bhile. not sure on a site, though. i do know however, that yahoo isn't all that great. i'll keep my eyes out.

You can start your own group your the mod and owner and other can be appointed to mods also i used.to have a few groups.unfortunatly u cant make a chat room to go along with it but you can just set up a confrence and its just like a room only u need the conf key or a invite to get in.Public rooms are shoot nowadays cuz of the chatroom nazis and there booters and other programs.you can also set your group to be private to stop spam bots and people that like to crack accounts.yahoo is full of chatroom bullys.And i just know how to deal with them and if anyone else ever has a yahoo issue with someone send me a PM and ill let you know how to protect yourself.I myself think a yahoo group would be awsome be a good place to meet up and shoot the sheet play some tunes talk on the mic.I,f u need help settting it up just let me know ill be more then happy to help you out.*****also theres jmeeting where you can make your own chatroom and moderate it also it also has voice and cams and is also free one.Its also heavly monitored bye there own moderators.
