its my sincere hope that all makers new tech stuff works, however we got bit by marketing in the past a few times and the salesman is not the one that takes the heat.
I live on a piece of dirt my great grandfather bought in 1885, the house I live in my grandfather built in 1955, the post office box nor the phone number has changed since about 62.
most everyone in this tiny place knows where I live and they dont mind showing up at 0530. however most are polite enough to let me make a pot of coffee first, the good ones bring an extra cup with them.
doesnt bother me I have done it for years.
however I will stand by my comments until, hopefully, the next 6 years makes me eat them.
been there done that both in the automotive trade in the 70's and 80's and now the outboard trade.
when sales and marketing drive, service and product usually suffer.

Kanadakid, you obviously have your own preconceived notions and beliefs based on your own personal sceptism and you too are allowed to have your own opinions on BRP.

Yes BRP is a much more marketing driven company than Bombardier...and so it should be. Consumer goods vs. commercial transport are sold in an entirely different fashion...as we have all seen.
Engineering and marketing go hand in hand in this firm. How could someone say different? Their whole marketing push is based on engineering innovations!

I'm saying don't kill the goose before you have any true experience with them. I'll give them my benefit of the doubt, because of BRP's reputation on existing product that they do real well on (seedoos and skidoos...and recently ATV's). Their company philosophy has always been to have top notch people and product. I can't see them producing junk in this business as it would kill their long earned reputation at being Number 1 for their products.

Little to nothing is known on their actual technology, so don't bash it based on sceptism and perceived technical notions that can't be justified other than by assumptions on how the ETECH technology works.

Remember when aluminum block engines came out? Remember when fuel injection did? Remember when engine operating temps went up in car motors? This was all going to fall to pieces in short order according to sceptics. And yet, my little Honda Civic has one of those high tech engines. Guess what? No engine melt down. No poor engine life...only less emissions, more power, and less fuel consumption. Why? because engineers pushed the envelope and WON!

You know it's the Bombardier family philosophy is what brought the Canadair out of it's miserable existance in the first place. If they have BRP now, great. It's back to basics for this company and it's continued success.

As you say "time will tell".
