Yam 60 PTT prob

I had the whole unit stripped out, cleaned and put back together, and it still wont tilt the engine up, makes a worse "whirring noise" than it did before! - it trims in and out slowly ok, but when the tilt ram takes over it just doesnt have the balls to lift the motor, any ideas?<br /><br />Hydraulic oil is OK<br /><br />Andy

about what year model 60 are we working with ?

and was the job performed with a service manual and all new orings and back up rings?<br /><br /> and its possible you have bad orings on ther manual release valfe, a defective up relief valve or a bad pump.

hightower snap! mines the same a yam60 1992 trim but no tilt
