I would suggest "nice and fresh" fuel ...........then,

If you store the engine for a winter etc, run a small mount of "Stabil-ized" fuel through the engine to get it into the carb/EFI system, and drain the tank.

In the Spring, change the filter and refill the tank with fresh fuel and go boating.

OK folks, thanks for al the answers. I guess I should have been more specific. My tank can take many weeks to empty before I need a re-fill, hence the questin about adding additives.

"Many weeks" is a fairly relative term.

I might use something if I didn't use a container of fuel from say, AUG to JUN......but if I knew I would do that in advance, I would drain the remaining fuel and run it in the car, then fill the tank later when I resumed using the boat.

If "many weeks" was from Jun to Aug, (like 12 weeks or so) I would just run it and not worry about it.
