have to crank engine wait and re crank several times to start motor only after sitting in tilted up position for week. if left down starts right up on first crank even after a month in freezing weather. runs great otherwise. cant find a fuel leak with cowl off and tilted up. any ideas, thanks

I had the same problem on both of my boats. Now -I have carbs on both (I don't know what you have)<br />but in both cases the choke shutters weren't closing enough. Once I discovered this and adjusted them they both start like cars. Inside of 3 seconds. Good luck to ya. Mike

Are you squeezing the primer ball until it is hard before starting the motor? If not, some of the fuel is evaporating from the vapor tank, VST, and you have to keep cranking the motor until the lift pump gets fuel to the VST.
