After the engine warms up and after crusing at about 4000 rpm for 10 or more minutes, I pull back to idle (in gear or out of gear)and hear a faint squeaking noise. I has been doing this for over one year and is getting no worse. The timing belt looks good to me. I was wondering if there is an adjustment to the tensioner. I have the repair manual and I can't find one. The tensioner does not appear to be pulled by the spring or do I just not understand how it works. I don't even know if this is the squeak. Thanks for your help. This is a great forum.

I think it's the driveshaft bushing.

Like fin says...the drive shaft bushing may need attention. The timing belt tensioners are not adjustable.

Re: Yamaha 100 Tensioner

what model do you have? most the large 4cyl motors are twin cam with an ajustable tensioner. all the F100's I see have the same set up as the 115.<br /> but most likly your either hearing the driveshaft bushing squeak or you have a belt that just makes noise, I have seen several that made noise at low speed. if all is correctly adjusted it just is what it is.
