Yamaha 130v4 2 stroke power trim motor

I have a 2001 130 v4. I put an aftermarket trim motor on it last season and it worked OK for the few times i used the boat. Now it's not working. I hear the relays click but the motor won't operate up or down. I'm planning on keeping this boat/motor for a few more years at least. Should I buy a genuine trim motor or is there an equally good aftermarket option? I see arco brand ones for around 300 vs 600 for oem. The one I put on last year was a cheaper aftermarket. Also will I be able to replace it with the motor mounted to the boat (the one I installed last year was at the time I was installing the outboard to the boat so I installed the trim motor before mounting to the boat.) Thank you

probably just the T&T relay not making good contact inside,
test to see if you are sending 12VDC to the motor itself

Good point. I'll check that before proceeding

So this motor uses an up relay and a down relay. Seeing as it won't go up or down just a click from each relay does that point to the relays being ok?

no, you need to measure voltage to the motor.
make sure the positive and negative is getting to the motor.

you can also make sure you have good voltage getting to the relay, not just the control voltage causing the relays to energize

Put 12 volts directly to the motor.-----That would bypass lots of wires / switches / relays.----If motor works that way then work backwards to find fault.

I just checked it out. I disconnected the motor wires and ran power to them. I can get the motor to spin briefly by tapping on the body of the motor. Safe to say it's the motor?
