yamaha 150 counter roatation

Can I use a yamaha 150 counter rotation outboard on a boat that had a single engine on it ? Are the any adverse effect to do this ? Thanks for the input ! Jim

Yes you can but.....

Most boats have their helm on the starboard side.
The additional off centre weight helps counteract the veer to the left/port caused by a clockwise/standard rotation prop. You may hav to re-distribute some weight.
