yamaha 1999 200 ox66

bought rebuilt powerhead transfered everything from one motor to other plug everything in the engine backfires through the exhaust checked key and is good what can be the problem any info be appreciated

It's either a timing issue, or a firing order issue. Did you determine what ruined the previous powerhead?

What happened to the previous power head? Have you done anything to cure previous problem. If not expect the same results again.

well the first powerhead had a bad bearing noise in it and viberated real bad ran excellent on top end i changed powerhead plugged everything as needed when trying to start backfires through the exhaust a real loud one too.getting spark anf fuel

Have you checked or had checked the fuel pressure and injectors? Are your pumps fresh? Cleaned and tested the 02 sensor?

well had fuel system check out seemed to be in good working order i have not checked the o2sensor but i will do the following what else do i look for

well the injection system tested good and o2sensor good also put a timing light on it today and is out 10 degrees before tdc
