yamaha 200txrs not sure the year, carbed. 6-cyl.
will run for a bit but pops and sputters like it misses on a couple of cylinders. Then after doing that for a bit it will just stall dead, will start right back up though. At first i though it was carbs because in middle pair while running i would choke and nothing would happen while on the others the engine would bog. I cleaned out the middle carbs and they are now bogging when i choke them but the engine still does the sputtering and stalling. I changed the plugs and it got a little better but still did it.
any ideas? also what is the setting for the fuel idle screws on the carbs, i put them back to the position they were but thought i would try to adjust them.

test compression, test spark, if ok replace the fuel pump and clean the carbs and fuel lines.
check the plug cap resistance,5Kohms plus or minus 1K.
check the recirculation checkvalves on the block.
on those carbs the air/fuel mix at idle is fixed by the pilot fuel jet,in the fuel bowl, and the pilot air jet,in the upper part of the carb body just fwd of the throttle plates.
the "mixture" screw allows more or less of the A/F mixture into the intake.
the 90-95 200 1 1/4 port side and 5/8ths on the stbd side. if everything is correct you should be ok with this setting, occasionally we have to fatten up the stbd side just a bit.
