Yamaha 225 no voltage at fuel pump

I've searched the archives to no effect.

I'm helping a buddy solve a problem on his Grady White with dual 225's.

On one motor, the fuel pump is not getting voltage.

We've swapped out the switches on the console. We swapped out the ECU's. We don't have a wiring diagram, but found 12V and ground on the wiring harness to the ECU. But no power to the fuel pump. We jumper to the fuel pump and it runs fine.

So what could it be? Are there any sensors that tell the fuel pump to cut off?

4 stroke or two stroke?
a model number would be very handy about now.
I can help with your issue but first need to know what 225 hp yamahas we are disscussing.

Re: Yamaha 225 no voltage at fuel pump

Spent an hour or two today on it, and fixed the problem.

Measured actually .85V at the fuel pump, and at the fuse (had been told there was none by test light), which indicated to me to be a bad connection somewhere. Which is a nightmare on the wiring harnesses of today. But lucked out in finding fairly straightaway a 3-by-2 connector that had 12V on all but one wire, which had the .85V. Pulled it apart and cleaned it and we were back in business.

I've got a similar problem w my 250. Mine is intermittent, and I'm pulling my hair out. Which connector was the problem? Thanks.

Re: Yamaha 225 no voltage at fuel pump

still dont know two stroke or 4 stroke and OX66 or HPDI.
makes a sheet ton of difference in testing.
the 250 HP yamaha was made in 4 stroke EFI, two stroke OX66 and 2 stroke HPDI.
all used a different method in testing pump voltage and the ground path.
why is it so hard to get a simple model number ?
the 225(excluding 2.6l carbed 225) over the years has been 2 stroke V76,2 stroke OX66 4 stroke EFI and two stroke HPDI.
which one are we discussing ?
