Hey guys I am haveing some trouble with my 25hp yamaha 2s.
model num. 25ESG. serial 250408.
It sat for about two years. I replaced gas tank, lines, primer bulb ect. We took carbs apart and replaced all gaskets ect in them. Boat ran fine, just as well as it did when new. It sat in the water at our river place for about 3 weeks. This weekend when we got to our place I knew it need to be run. I got to it, it started, took a couple minutes. Let it warm up all perfect.
My son and I head off down river got maybe a 1/4 mile planed out everything sounds great and lost power. would idle fine but would not tach up. You could floor throttle and it would try to sould like it was lugging terribly. It never died and you could shut it down and restart it like normal. It would idle all day long. If you idled it up with the throttle it would sometime plane out and then go a bit and back itself down.
So my question is... is this a fuel problem, (water in gas), or is this sounding like some other issue?
thanks for the help guys, I cannot get ot the boat until this weekend and am hoping to try to get this resolved then.
