Ahoy, Capt. Mackie.<br /><br />Well, it depends.<br /><br />Carbureted 2 strokes get the worst fuel efficiency. They usually offer the least weight per hp and cost least.<br /><br />EFI 2 strokes are a bit better than that, weigh more, cost more.<br /><br />Carbureted 4 strokes are even better.<br /><br />EFI 4 strokes and DFI 2 strokes get the best fuel efficiency, as much as double some carbed 2 strokes. They are the most expensive and, with some exceptions, the heaviest.<br /><br />All 2 strokes use oil all the time. Four strokes only use it at oil changes. The real difference is that you can decide where the oil from the 4 stroke goes next.<br /><br />Good luck.
