I have a 2004 40 hp Yamaha. The specs on the 40 and the 50 are exactly the same. I was told that a restrictor is installed in the exhaust port on the 40's and not installed in the 50's. Has anyone ever had the restrictor on their 40 removed thus making it a 50HP? Since I have a 2 year warranty I will not be doing this but I am just curious if it is true. Thanks.
