Anyone know how to adjust the throttle lever friction on a Yamaha dual 704 box? Levers slowly slip back toward idle after being set at a specific RMP.

Remove the top cover of your control. 4 black screws and remove the top cover. Once the cover is removed. There are two screws on the bottom side of the control. Turn the screws in till they get tight and go one turn more. Most of thoses screws are loose from the factory. Its a friction stop. GO easy with the alu. screws.

I have the same issue with needing to adjust my throttle friction, howver after removing the four screws mentioned above the cover will still not cove off. I'm a bit leary about using "percussive" measures. It also looks as if the box goes completely around the throttle arm. Does it just pop off? Thanks for the help.

yes, it just pops off. look at the sides, there are 2 indents that kinda hold it on after the screws have been removed. i get something under mine, pull out a little, from the middle, and it seperates easily, then pops off. the piece inder the throttle is a seperate, slide in piece . it will fall out. np
