Yamaha 8 hp Idle problem

I bought a 2009 8hp Yamaha last spring and had to have the carbs cleaned out in August of 2009. I got the lecture on E-10 fuel and I need to be adding a fuel stabilizer. Took the boat out this week after having it sit most of the winter and the motor is starting to idle rough again. It is hard to keep it at troll and when you give it gas, it coughs, hesitates, and sometimes die.

I have been adding the stablizer religiously and would like to avoid another expensive carb cleaning. Is there a carb cleaner recommended by Yamaha that I can add to the tank to fix the current problem?

I guess I am going to have to find new station that sells E-10 free gas.

Re: Yamaha 8 hp Idle problem

sorry to say it but your mostly likly gonna have to clean the carb ,again.
after that, every time you stop using it, DRAIN it.
the drain is a small brass hex plug on the lower part of the fuel bowl.
problem with 4 stroke carbed motors, especially EPA motors, is the passages are so tiny.
you can try fresh fuel with a fuel cleaner but I doubt it will work.
I hate 4 stroke carbed motors with todays fuel.
even with stabilizers, in my area fuel lasts about 6 weeks then starts going south.
I know, some corn squeezers are gonna flame me, thats just what I see.
