Hi all!

I'm helping out a relative on mine to get going an old boat he has at the cottage.
It's a Yamaha 8B 677 that i got told has never run right, so i'm planning to give it a general overhaul ..

BUT

No matter how much i search i can't find the service manual for it and not even the parts catalog :Cry:

Anybody maybe has it lying around or has any idea how to find it? I need the parts catalog to order some new parts and the service manual to get the specs to adjust the ignition that is breaker-point based

What country are you in?

Normally you would contact a dealer in the country that sold that particular model motor. The dealer should be able to provide a service manual and a parts catalog.

Have been to the dealer: They laughed at me at my question and only wanted me to leave the outboard for them to fix....

Yamaha sell manuals, you just need to find a dealer over there that will order the ones you need.
or at least find out what the part number for the manuals are so you can search for them yourself one line.

But as old as that motor is, who knows if you can find the ones you need. getting the part#s of the manuals is the 1st step

!984 is when Yamaha started selling motor here in the USA, so we will not have anything for that motor unless it was the same for many years

Thank you xltier! That was a good find even although it doesn't contain the ignition tuning part :) I'll try googling some more and check on eBay if I can find anything

Call Yamaha. From their website:

For questions regarding your Yamaha Outboard call:
(866) 894-1626

I called them to obtain manuals and the lady was very friendly and helpful.

They also have a website https://www.yamahapubs.com , but unfortunately I don't see anything earlier than 1984 listed.
