I have the weirdest problem with my 9,9D. It's a 2000 make.
It won't really start - if I work it a long time I can get it somewhat running on mid throttle, but it refuses to run at high or low speed.
Here's what I've done:
- Switched the carb to another engine, it ran fine so not carb.
- Reed seems fine, closed and not too hard to open.
- Plenty spark on both plugs.
- Compression is spot on. I have changed the bearings and the seals.
It seems like the engine is either not pulling in gas - thus vacuum - (start gas dont really work), or the timing is way off, like 180 degrees off. I've done the timing according to the manual, and the plugs get wet. Coils are connecte to the right cylinder.
Anyone a lot smarter than me have any ideas?
Thanks a lot
- Jon
