I puchased a 1997 yamaha c40 about a year ago. It is a 2 cylinder 2 stoke. At the time of purchase I did the ussual maintenance you do when you puchase a used motor. On my first time on the water with it I noticed the engine would sneeze or make a popping noise in the carbs between a quarter and half throtle so I rebuilt the carbs(wich were spotless) and still have the same problem. I have adjusted the carbs in every way and it still does it, crazy thing is if I run it without the black plastic carb cover it runs great and shows none of the signs previously noted. Would appriciate any help.
