My 2004 Yahama 4-stroke F115 has 2 wiring connectors that are open, but appear as if they should be connected to each other. The connectors are on the starboard side of the engine just below the starter motor. The male connector has 2 wires: 1 black and 1 pink. The female connector has 4 wires: 3 pink and 1 pink/black stripe. I have been told this was for a service diagnostic instrument, and is to be left unconnected under normal operating conditions. If so, it would seem that a protective cover should be over each connector. ANYONE KNOW THE PURPOSE OF THESE WIRING CONNECTORS?
