I am in need of a cylinder head for a 1999 F15 Yamaha. I ordered a bare head, but they (Yamaha) don't know when they'll build one, and the customer isn't really happy about $1700 for a complete one. I need either a bare head (P/N 66M-11111-09-1S) or a used complete head, suitable for resurfacing. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Yamaha F15 cylinder head

Admiral: Retiree has the engine on stern of a Carolina Skiff which sits on a lift and is used infrequently. It apparently hadn't been flushed, either, because when I removed the head, salt buildup in the block had redirected the water under pump pressure right into #1 cylinder. This head can't be repaired due to the proximity of the hole in the combustion chamber, to the intake valve seat, which would come out in the repair process. There is more in the background (also involving the boat currently sitting on a neighbor's trailer) contributing to the whole scene. Of course, the boat is 1 hour, 20 minutes away from me, so with gas at $3.65/gal right now, I'm trying to find what I can via the net! Thanks for everyone's input.
