Hi Folks
I wonder if someone can help as I am completely stumped? I have a 2006 F15AE at the end of last year it wouldn't idle properly so I took the carb off and it was full of salt, I cleaned it totally and fitted a new carb kit for good measure put the carb back on and it ran pretty well until I hit the throttle hard then it would die, if it was gently increased it seemed ok until it came to put it in neutral then it died. So I stripped the fuel pump and it was full of salt so a new pump kit and a good clean and it's was good as new, however still didn't fix the problem. I checked the spark with an old plug with the gap opened right up and it jumped the gap yet didn't seems very strong (if that makes sense). I eventually gave up and put it into a main dealer who has taken the best part of ?150 off me to put the carb in an ultrasonic bath. I took it out to the Loch a couple of days ago and it ran for half an hour then died when it came off plane and wouldn't restart. I put the warm up leaver right up and eventually got it started bumped it into gear and limped into the dock. I am being told this needs a new carb but I am not totally convinced this isn't electrical.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rob
