Yamaha F150 Loosing Power

Hi,

I have a 2008 F150 with 110 hours on her. After 10-15 mins at 5000 RPM she looses power and wont go above 4000 / 4200 at a push. Took here inro the dealer and he put her on the computer ....everything tested out ok. He also said 'the filters looked OK' also. If you leave it for a day ....go out again and she goes up to 5500 and 10-15mins later the same problem occurs.

anyone got any ideas what to do next.

Find a dealer technician who knows what he is doing. The untrained use the computer as a crutch and think if it shows no errors, then there is nothing wrong with the motor. Most good techs will run the boat with fuel pressure and vacuum gauges to monitor both the boat's and the engine's fuel system and will also check injectors and electric fuel pump screens.

Problem found, injectors needed cleaning. All running fine now.

Maybe install a fuel/water separator type filter(Walmart $27) and use Stabil in gas to keep fuel clean and fresh. Save time/money/headaches with plugged injectors/filters/screens. Otherwise your dirty injector problem may re-occur. Good Luck!
