That's a carbed motor. You're not going to get any more Hp with a different ignition module any more than with a different sparkplug. Spark is spark. To get the added ponies you prabably need to start with different carbs. But I doubt that's all there is to it. There could be differences in the exhaust tuning, timing, heads, etc. In most every case, it would be cheaper to trade it in on the motor you want. That way you get a guarantee. Fidget with that 80 too much and toss any warranty you might have left right out the window. Not to mention the potential of doing real harm that would pale in comparison to any money you spent on "upgrades".

They're all EFIs now? Cool! I don't think they were in 2003. I could be wrong. Motors available in Sweden aren't always the same as what's available here. If yours is an EFI, then a new computer would be the main hurdle, although not the only one.

Playing around with a motor to increase HP is something for a specialist and then one with lots of dollars to spend. We trust that the manufacturer has designed and built the motor for optimum power taking into account affordability, reliability and a reasonably long life. Leave the tinkering alone and if you want more power trade up to a bigger motor.
