Yamaha F90B prop

Looking for recommendations for props that'll increase speed?

I inherited a 25' pontoon with a Yamaha F90 4 stroke. The current prop is OEM aluminum, but I've heard/read that by using a steel prop it could increase speed.

Current prop:

• 13.25" diameter x 17" pitch
• 3 blade
• RH rotation
• 15 spline propshaft
• Rubber hub

Not necessarily. Lots of things to consider in getting the right prop for a boat. First thing we will need is some performance information now that we know your current prop info. Is your boat a 2 barrel "Toon" or a Tri-toon? What is the condition of the tubes....nice and shiny, full of slime, barnacles? What is your engine's recommended operating RPM range? Where are you in that regard currently with your regular load in the boat and best trim angle at WOT? What is your GPS speed with what I said above?

Not to rain on your parade but twin tube toons never were all that fast. So somebody decided to put a third tube on them for some planing surface, put 200-300 HP on them and finally got some decent speed out of that type of boat......I did recently see an article about a guy having 300 hp on his tri-toon and forget the speed but it was flying.
