Hey guys, hope you can help. I have a 2010 Yamaha 15 hp , 4 stroke. The model is f15LMH. I am looking for a rectifier/ regulator for this motor, but the model does not show up on any search. Any ideas? Maybe a part number ? Thank you.

Re: Yamaha model number

First, the model identity needs to be sorted out.

There is no F15LMH. An F15MLH was last offered in 2005 so that is not your motor.

If your is a 2010 production year motor then perhaps it is F15CMLH??? But, the last year for that model was 2009.

Notwithstanding the confusion on my part regarding the motor in question, the manual start F15 or F15C did not come with a charging system incorporated within the motor. You will need more than a rectifier/regulator. See the illustration for typical alternate parts that can be added to a manual start motor to give it an electrical output.

Ahem......
Clicky

(ps - the last A is just a suffix code)

Edit - I don't know why iboats won't allow links. But just go to boats dot net, Yamaha, 2006+ F15LMH is right there.

Re: Yamaha model number

The Yamaha F15LMHA was not offered here in the US until 2011/12. So, if you have one that is a 2010 production year version I presume that you did not buy it in the US. Correct?

I stand by what I said. There is no F15LMH. It is an F15LMHA, but again, it was not offered by Yamaha US in 2010. It first shows up in the 2012 Yamaha product information guide as being a new model.

But now if you have an F15LMHA, whatever the year, then the parts to add an electrical output are as I mentioned earlier. See below. For some strange reason Yamaha listed the F15LMHA under the F15C groupings.

Re: Yamaha model number

So I ordered a regulator and need to hook it up. My motor has 2 solid green leads , but the regulator has a solid green wire and a green with a white stripe. Does the white stripe matter? I am guessing that it does not,, but need to be sure. The rest is straight forward, but do not want to blow it. Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Yamaha model number

The output of the lighting coil to the rectifier is single phase AC. So, as you surmised the orientation of the wires does not matter.
