Yamaha mounting bolts, longer available?

I have an 1986 Yamaha 150 hp on my Four Winns 170 Horizon (17'). I am rebuilding the transom and wanted to install a plate to add extra reinforcement on the inside of the transom where the motor mounting bolts go through.

I am wondering if I can order longer mounting bolts from somewhere in order to handle the added thickness of the reinforced transom. Has anyone done this?

Also, I plan to mount an adjustable kicker motor mount/bracket and will be needing hdwr for that too. Where should I buy such hdwr? I assume stainless steel is the only way to go. Planning on mounting a 6hp, do you think that will be adequate power for trolling/backup/emergency?

The stainless steel mounting boats on most motors are usually an inch or more longer than they really have to be, so if your reinforcing plate's not real thick, the bolts you have may be long enough. A marine supply place should have longer bolts, but you might check an industrial supply place or a Tractor Supply. For salt water use, I'd stick with the Stainless Steel for sure! Good Luck!

Ok, I plan on trying to get the bolts through Tacom Screw (local).

Does anyone know the actual grade of the Yamaha mounting bolts? 316 stainless?
