yamaha prop question

Hi<br />I am getting ready to repower my 18 ft Actioncraft with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke.Any prop sugestions?

See what your dealer thinks...ask if they will let you test some props. I can't say I know your hull style, but I think a 21" would be a starting point. with a light load (just you and fuel) you want to hit the top of the recommended RPM range.<br />Without looking it up, is this a flats boat?? what type is it?

If your old motor (assuming it was a 2 stroke) was about the same hp and was set up properly, the pitch will be about the same. Now, if the set up changes so will the pitch. <br /><br />If the set up remains the same and you had about the same hp and you use the same prop it will probably slow down slightly going from a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke. You'll spin the same prop the same rpm but the gear ratios are different.

Check Yamaha US website for performance bulletins on the F150 4-stroke. Maybe You will fins Your boat or similar tested there and then You can see what prop they used in the test.
