Hi and thanks for a great forum. I am replacing my impeller ,98 yamaha 115 2 stroke(inshore model). To drop the lower unit is there a shift rod disconnect somewhere? Seloc manual is in the mail, but I'm getting impatient.<br />thanks
The shift rod is splined. Pull the lower unit in neutral. Its a great system. You dont have to disconnect any thing. The shift rod is a male female splined design. Grease all the bolts when you put it back together. Make sure you use a factory Yamaha Impeller the after market one dont work well in a Yamaha.
thanks Brian , I have the yamaha impeller. This is the third one I've had to replace. This inshore model with the low water intake sucks up alot of sand and mud
