Yamaha shut-off problem

From time to time, my Yamaha F80 outboard will not turn off, not even with the key and kill switch removed. Strange thing is, it doesn't always happen, and when it does, it is only on the first shut-off moment of the outing. It will be fine during subsequent starts and stops on the day, it's only on that first shut-off of the outing that it will hang on and not stop. I'm hoping that might be a clue.

Any ideas out there? Thank you for any thoughts,

V

PS: Oops, I just discovered that I posted the same question a few years ago. The problem comes and goes, so I'm hoping for further insight, if there is any to be had:

Have you replaced the ignition key switch ? Or pay a experienced person to do it. To prevent damage to wiring ?

if it helped messing with the connectors last time, that is where you should be looking right now.
the key switch and man overboard kill switch send the CDI voltage to ground killing the spark.
if that wire does not have a good connection to grounded, it cannot stop the voltage
