I have a 1995 200hp yam outboard. runs fine at all speeds except idle speeds. i have cleaned all carbs but problem still exists. When trying to load and unload boat it keeps stalling. When I drop from high speed to idle speed it will stall, it also it likes to stall when going into reverse. It's hard to restart when it dies on me, but if I kill it when it's running it restars easily. If there's any kind of help or advice I can look into please help me out, I'm new to boat motors and this forum so keep the slang words easy on me, I'm no mechanic :) All helps GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

I think you need to clean the carbs better and make sure to follow procedures in Yamaha service manual to set up the carb linkages and adjustments( link and sync)

Thanks for the answer, I cleaned the carbs very thoroughly and followed the manual to the T. I set the carb linkages up exactly where they was. It didn't really tell me much about the linkages and the adjustments except that Hook them up back as I found them, which I did. I didn't put a carb kit in them tho I only cleaned them really nicely. The parts didn't look worn looking, so I didn't use a kit on them.

Sounds like pilot(idle) passages need better cleaning, maybe sonic bath cleaning is in order if you are sure they are clean.
But then if they are not adjusted properly that maybe all that is wrong
My guess is your manual is not a Yamaha service manual, aftermarket ones usually do not give all the info.
Go to the Yamaha web site to find the proper manual # then do some searching

I really do not know what they use in the sonic cleaner as I have never used one myself.
I would look for a link and sync procedure and adjust the carbs 1st. If all the carbs are not open exactly the same at idle then the cylinders are fighting each other at idle
