Yamaha Tach calibration calibration ???

I am installing a tach for a 1993 40hp, 2 stroke, Yamaha outboard.To calibrate the tach I must know how many poles the flyheel magneto uses for that model. It will be 4,6 or 12 pole. Anyone know? Can't seem to find it in the manual I have. Thanks

6 pole. Per the rigging specs manual

Somethings funny here .This was posted in May!I installed it and it works fine.This something all boat owners should have if possible.
