i dont have access to my boat yet, but here is my scenario..
i currently have a 1988 40 hp yamaha remote steer and just bought a 1999 50hp merc 4 stroke with tilt/trim and the control.
is there anything i need to do special to mount the merc to my existing steering? the shop i bought the motor at will be doing the install and running it up, but i don't want to be hit with any unexpected extra charges for new hardware.
the merc is setup for remote steering already and has the arm and adapter bracket thing. but i cannot remember what the Yamaha has for connections to the steering cable.
are these all generic and just hook up?
seloc manual doesnt even have a pic of the steering setup for my Yamaha.
