Chabro, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure any outboard can be a ran in saltwater as long as you flush it on a hose and rinse the exterior religously after each outing. There are motors designed and built specifically to withstand the abuse of saltwater and prevent corrosion, but if they are not flushed and well maintained, they will suffer the same consequences eventually.
