Hey guys I have a question for you. I have a 2000 yamaha 150 TXRY on a 1978 mako center console. The main problem is the motor has a 25in shaft on a 20in transom. I do have a jack plate but it is in need of adjusting cause when I put my motor down while running water splashes up into the boat so I have to trim it way up in order for this not to happen. I am running about 37mph topped out by myself which I feel is way to low for this boat. The prop I have is a 15M so I dont know if this would affect anything good/bad? I just feel that I should be getting more out of the motor as far as top end goes. The pick up is fantastic but top end should be up in the 45 range with this set-up. Thanks guys for any advice.
James

Re: yamaha ?

55-5600 sounds correct.
Where is your cavitation plate located in relation to the bottom of the boat?
Prop: 15M - probably sometink like a 14x15 Yamaha prop, is it alum. or stainless steel?

Re: yamaha ?

the prop is stainless. the cavitation plate is level with the bottom of my boat but is about 6in out off the transom due to the jack plate. I get a good amount of cavitation and I can't lower my motor down all the way because it splashes water up into my boat if I do.
