YamahaT9.9EXHQ lower unit (1992)

I received this motor with the lower unit off. When it was separated, the water tube grommet came off with the tube out of the upper unit.<br />I can't seem to get it back in- too small to get my big hands in there. Also for gear oil and 4 stroke motor oil does stock oils work or do you pay the big bucks for "Yamalube"?

I actually got the grommet seated. Used a 1/2 rod to get it in place, then slid a 3/4 copper pipe around that, added a little marine lube, and seated it right in place.<br /><br />Still wondering about those oils.<br />thanks

hello<br /> as long as the gear lube meets yamaha specs for the lower its fine. lubrimatic will work. its not a huge amount of heat on that tiny mite. same for the oil. should have a tag on the engine to tell ya what viscosity and SAE spec.<br /> good luck and keep posting
