I have an 02 Yamaha F115 TLRA. The problem I am having is that The Bolt Hole on the lower unit where you drain the oil is stripped. I dont know how this happened. This was my first oil change since owning the boat and i dont know if it happened due to over tightening over time, or the previous owner put the wrong bolt in there last time he changed it, but i had a little trouble taking the bolt out to drain the oil and the whole thing is stripped smooth now. I dont know what to do. The bolt is maybe 3/4 of an inch long and the hole has like 1 1/4" of threads ( only 1/2"-3/4" left) so i guess i could maybe look for a longer bolt, but i don't know if that's possible. Another option i guess is to re-thread it for a bolt i size larger, but i'd rather not do that if i have to. I've looked at the diagrams and i dont believe that Bolt Hole is replaceable without replacing the entire middle part of the engine (the large peice between the lower unit and the powerhead) Which i would imagine is very expensive. Any Ideas anybody has would be great. I would post a parts diagram, but i for some reason it won't load from the yamaha site.... but from what i looked at the other day it doesnt that bolt hole does not seem to be replaceable and didnt have a part number. Thanks for your help guys!
