I have an '04 F115 on a 18.5' Scout dual console and the steering wheel is completely locked up. Any suggestions on where to start? I've read some of the other posts, and I am pretty good at fixing things like this, I just have absolutely zero experience with steering linkage. Thanks in advance.

More than likely you have a steering cable that is telescopic. Most are made by and are called the Teleflex cable. The cable attaches to the steering box below the steering wheel at one end and the other end at the outboarb motor steering linkage. The cable slides back and forth within the outer jacket. I would suggest you disconnect the cable end where it bolts to the motor or disconnect the arm at the motors glide tube at the motor. Now turn the steering wheel. If it still wont turn loosen the large nut at the cable end at the steering wheel box location and pull the cable out of the box . Then see if the steering wheel will turn. If the wheel does not turn the steering box is locked up and most likely you will need to replace the steering box. But if the wheel turns the steering cable is corroded inside the cable jacket. You would replace the cable.

Thanks! I got it working again and greased it up pretty good. The boat sat most of the summer. I would go out and start the motor for a couple minutes every month or so, but I didn't think to play with the steering to keep it loose. Now I know.
