Hi,
Do to excessive oil leakage I need to renew the head gasket on my Yanmar 2qm15. The Yanmar workshop manual says to coat both sides of the new gasket with "Three Bond 50" before bolting it down. I am not sure what this product is because I cannot get it here in Australia. Has anyone heard of it?
I'm not even sure if it is still necessary to use the product because the gasket part number has been changed from the original 124060-10330 to 124060-10331, which could indicate that it has been replaced with a more up to date gasket. The gasket I have is 124060-10331. It is pre coated with some kind of black material around the oil ports (see photo below).
Would anyone know if it was still necessary to to use Three Bond 50? And if so just what is it? I am wondering what it might be so I can come up with an alternative product here in Oz.
Thanks,
bluey
