Finally back on the water after that @!%$#&* SOB stole the motor late last year. Couldn't find a GOOD 4 stroke within my budget. My Merc guy said there was a shortage because new ones were out of stock because Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu and Honda were severely backed up due to the Japan sunami. He had moved into a bigger bldg. and needed surveillance and alarm system so we bartered a deal. He built a 60 Bigfoot using a blown one he had, using a full brand new powerhead from Mercury. Question for you guys as I forgot to ask, what is a reasonable break in period for this one? So far I have been keeping at around 4000 rpm. Some say to hold there. Others say to vary the rpms, but the question is how long before I go to 5800.
