I have an Evinrude...#jooo2488 and 4055 4c....age, any quirks/hints etc about this engine....It has had an extension installed ...makes it a long shaft..

I also have a midsection/lower end with the following # 1880 3m-e01838, can the parts be used on the other engine?

Thanks for any help.....

YUP!.....that is what it looks like......so this motor worth anything? It has an extension to make it a long shaft, I need a short shaft, worth the work....it does run ok. It is set up for remote control vs tiller

Re: Year of motor?

A new 40HP is in the $5,000. range. An older, clean, running motor of similar power will usually bring around 10% of that, more or less.

The 40 is a good motor for small faster inflatables, so you should not have much trouble finding a buyer, but be prepared to show compression, spark and ability to run and shift gears.
