Year of my mercruiser

Hello, I'm trying to find out what year is my mercruiser engine. I have tried looking up with the serial umber on the upper unit and the engine itself, but no luck. Can anyone please tell me how I can find out? Thanks in advance. Info below:
Engine serial no. 6913871
Upper unit ser no. 6920187

Thanks Gerry! How did you find that info? Does it matter what the upper unit serial number is? Or do you just go by engine serial number.

A lot of great info here, but what's the difference between an "MR" and "MC"?

MC-1 was 1963 (about) to 1982. The MR shares very little with the MC-1, not even housings. Same water pump impeller and housing, same water pocket cover, same seals. Some of the same bearings, none of the same gears. Even the gear ratios changed slightly. Basic shape and function are the same.
