My brother-in-law is looking at this evinrude motor. The man who has it does not know the year, the model # is50ESL73 R and the serial # is E3817851. He also wants to know the hp on this motor is it a 50 or a 55, and will it be a good motor to put on a 15' fiberglass boat

Hi Rob<br /> That ser# is for a 1973 50hp motor. If the motor is in good condition, It should be a good choice for that size boat. How ever you didn't give any details on boat or it's intended use.

The boat he intends to put it on is a Skipjack Hustler. He also wants to know if this motor and 15' boat will be strong enough to pull a skier or a tube.
