HERE IS THE ONLY INO I CAN FIND ON MOTOR<br />50 HP<br />MERC 500<br />4 CYL<br />PN 332-5772A1<br />7098471 FOUND THIS ON MOTOR

THe part number is for the switchbox.<br />It has been replaced in the Mercury listings by 332-5772A7.<br /><br />I'm gonna through out a guess that it is a 1985.<br /><br />Can you describe the hood, striping/colors (brown, black, blue, red, grey?), is there any chrome?

Unless the 7098471 is on the bracket, in which case it a Canadian Number ..<br />Making it 1977-78 and will look like this..<br /> http://www.myfishingpictures.com/watermark.php?file=527/141379merc.jpg <br /><br />If it's an 85 it will have a Brown Band<br />Does it have a Distributor or Coils ?

also i found this number on the bracket that clamps to the boat<br />14403255<br /><br />the motor has some chrome strips on the cover below and above the word mercury<br /><br />in between the chrome strips there are three strips of color<br />the top strip is light blue<br />next two are chrome<br /><br />to get into motor capartment you have to take off a little (10'' by 10'') panel that is held on by a thumb screit has the word IEKHAEFER ON IT<br /><br />THEN TO CONTINUE IN TO THE MOTOR YOU HAVE TO UNDO TWO STRAPS LIKE CONNECTERS TO TAKE OFF THE RAP AROUND SHROUD THAT HAS LIKE PLASTIC LINED INSIDE<br /><br />THEN THERE IS A SHROUD ON TOP OF THE MOTOR THAT YOU CAN TAKE OFF AND ITS ALL BLACK<br /><br />IT ALMOSTS LOOKS LIKE THE ONE PICTURE THAT WAS SENT ABOVE<br /><br />SOME ONE ELSE SAID I COULD COUNT THE TEETH INSIDE THE PROPELLER

I CAN BUY THIS MOTOR FOR $100 I WANT TO PUT IT ON MY NEW 2003 17 FT BASS TRACKER CAN I?<br /><br />ALSO WHERE CAN I GET A POWER TRIM AND TILT UNIT WOULD THERE BE ANY USED ONES OUT THERE
