Re: yellowish shade on boat hull

I noticed West sells both Star Brite Instant Hull Cleaner as well as EZ On EZ Off cleaner. (Mike and Gary) Which one is being referred to? Also West Marine has Spray 9 as a lubricant. Is this correct product Key West?
Thanks,

Watch getting the Starbrite on any carpet or seats. It is Oxilic acid (not sure of the spelling) but its made to remove rust and mineral stains and is some pretty strong stuff.
I got a feeling you may have to live with the color unless you go the high speed buffer with the 3 step 3M products. Then no guarantee...

 here is what I found about starbrite instant hull cleaner...

"Star Brite Instant Hull Cleaner Removes scum line, algae and rust stains. Simple spray-on formula. No rubbing. Safe and easy to use. Use on fiberglass, metal and painted surfaces. Contains no harmful acids. Biodegradable."

So is it ok to get on the rails of my boat? (I've been told not to get it on the rails.)

ARKBOATER: You have a nice looking Boat there. One you can be proud of.

I have several suggestions. Speaking from experience : "Chuck's Fiberglass"
Color Restore.

I would like to help you and since distance is so much. I suggest you either call me on the phone. Or I can call you. My calls are free. Let me know which you prefer and I can email you my Phone Number or you email me yours. your Choice.

But a Quick response for the benefit of this post.
First Starbrite Hull Cleaner is an Oxalic Acid. As stated above it is used to clean scum, stain and such from your hull. It is also used to remove Oxidation (chalking) on boats as a prep before extensive LOW RPM polishing. It will not harm paint. It is applied best by spraying. A fruit sprayer works good. I would not recommend you spray it on your rails. WHY would you want to do that? You don't want to get it on your Carpeting or Seats. It is not designed to remove yellowing and I fear it might cause splotching or uneven coloring if it did indeed remove the yellowing. So it might take several applications. You must wear Goggles, Rubber Gloves, old throw away clothes and not apply if there is any breeze. You don't want it on your skin or in your face/eyes.

Let me know what you decide. As you probably know I Boats has been screwed up the past three or four days again. Today is the first response I got back from this thread. SORRY!

2 cents....instead of spending money on "marine" products ,go to the hardware store and buy TSP stain remover, its in powder form, mix w/ water to desired concentration, and Voila stains be gone...
