Well, last Sunday I took the family to Cabellas for a little 'get-away' (wanted to kids to get to check out all the cool displays of animals they have, as well as a few other things).. anyhow, I ended up buying a few things while I was there... One of which, was this: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabe...=boat+ladder&WTz_l=Header;Search-All+Products
Now, as I stood there staring at the box, I had a bad feeling about this type of ladder, but the wife had a bad feeling about spending $50 on a ladder, when this one was "only" $35... Well, we got to try it out for the first time this evening.. took the kids down to the river to fish and swim. took out the new ladder, tied it off to the cleats and had my 10yr old give it a try... out of myself, my wife, my 10yr old and my 6yr old, not ONE of us could comfortably, or even safely for that matter, use this P.O.S! (nothing against Cabellas, as I'm sure this is designed/built by another company and just slap the cabellas name on it) My wife finally realized what I was trying to explain about the ladder 'pulling you under the boat' .... What really sucks is, to make a special trip to return it is pointless, as the store is close to 50 miles away. So, I guess I'll eat it on this one, and go out and either find an actual transom-mount ladder, or one of those 3-stepper deals that have the hooked ends to place over the side..
Sorry if I wasted anyone's time by posting this, but I just had to 'vent' a little about this... that and the fact that I lost two $6 lures today that I JUST bought also... ahh well....
